Do you want to make good use of your time, develop skills, and participate in impactful activities? The CHECK-IN Association promotes volunteer opportunities in Beja and Lisbon, allowing interested individuals to collaborate on its projects and initiatives. Opportunities may be ongoing or one-off, in-person, or part of national and European projects. Details regarding duration, schedule, location, and conditions are provided for each opportunity.
Where can you participate?
Beja
Participates in activities organized by CHECK-IN and its local partner entities, collaborating on projects aimed at young people and the community.
Lisboa
Assist with activities and projects promoted or coordinated by CHECK-IN in Lisbon. Available opportunities depend on the projects currently underway.
What kind of activities
Depending on the opportunity, you may participate in areas such as: youth and non-formal education; cultural and intercultural activities; social inclusion; environment and sustainability; communication and social media; event organization; support for European projects; information sessions; community participation; and support for international volunteers. Tasks are always explained before the activity begins and are tailored to each person's profile, availability, and interests.
Who can participate?
The profile, minimum age, and requirements depend on the specific activity. Generally, prior experience is not required. We look for responsible, motivated individuals who are eager to learn and interested in contributing to the community. When the opportunity involves individuals under the age of 18, authorizations from legal guardians and additional protective measures may be required.O perfil, a idade mínima e os requisitos dependem de cada atividade. What types of volunteering are there?
Regular volunteering
Ongoing participation in the activities of CHECK-IN or a partner entity, according to a pre-agreed schedule.
One-off volunteering
Support for events, campaigns, sessions, community activities, or other time-limited initiatives.
How does it work?
1. Send us an email
Contact CHECK-IN via email at volunteering@checkin.org.pt and indicate whether you are looking for volunteering opportunities in Beja or Lisbon. In the email, briefly outline your motivation, interests, experience, availability, and the type of activities you would like to participate in.
2. We check availability.
CHECK-IN reviews your request and checks for available activities or partner entities that match your profile and availability. Sending the email does not guarantee the immediate availability of an opportunity.
3. Participate in a conversation
If participation is a possibility, CHECK-IN will get in touch for a brief conversation regarding activities, schedules, expectations, and responsibilities.
4. Define your participation
CHECK-IN and the involved organization determine the tasks, location, schedule, and duration of the volunteering with you.
5. Receives the preparation
Before you start, you will receive information about the organization, the activities, the team, the safety rules, and your responsibilities.
6. Participates in the activities
During your volunteer work, you will be supervised by a designated person. You are expected to adhere to the agreed schedule, participate actively, and communicate any questions or difficulties.
7. Rate the experience
At the end, you will be able to take part in an assessment, share what you have learned, and receive a statement or certificate of participation, where applicable.
