Eurodesk
Discover opportunities and experience Europe.
Eurodesk is a European information network for young people that facilitates access to opportunities for mobility, learning, volunteering, and participation. The network brings European information closer to young people through local services, digital resources, campaigns, and activities carried out in schools and communities. Eurodesk information is free, neutral, accessible, and based on verified European sources.
CHECK-IN as a Eurodesk Multiplier
The CHECK-IN association has acted as a Eurodesk multiplier in Portugal since the network's inception. As a network member, it promotes European opportunities, answers questions, and helps young people find experiences suited to their age, interests, availability, and goals. CHECK-IN brings Eurodesk closer to young people through individual consultations, information sessions, workshops, school activities, campaigns, and the sharing of experiences by past participants.
Information on European opportunities
Eurodesk provides information on youth exchanges, training courses, volunteering, scholarships, internships, employment, mobility programs, educational travel, DiscoverEU, competitions, events, and other European initiatives. Young people can seek assistance in researching opportunities, understanding participation requirements, identifying necessary documents, and finding official sources for submitting applications. Eurodesk does not select participants, nor does it guarantee participation or funding. Each opportunity has its own requirements, deadlines, and application process.
Assistance and guidance
CHECK-IN assists young people seeking a domestic or international experience. During the orientation session, factors such as interests, age, availability, preferred countries, and the type of experience sought are assessed. Following this assessment, opportunities and platforms suited to each individual's profile are shared. Support is available in person, online, or via email.
Sessions and workshops
CHECK-IN organizes sessions and workshops on European mobility, Erasmus+ programs, the European Solidarity Corps, DiscoverEU, youth exchanges, volunteering, training courses, grants, internships, and employment in Europe. Activities may also cover intercultural preparation, safety during mobility, participant rights, application writing, skills recognition, and ways to leverage international experience. Non-formal education methods are used, such as games, quizzes, debates, simulations, testimonials, and group dynamics.
Eurodesk in Schools
Schools and educational organizations can request sessions tailored to the age and interests of the participants. These activities help young people learn about European opportunities, get their questions answered, and understand how they can get involved. Sessions can be held at the school, at CHECK-IN’s premises, or online. They can also be integrated into themed weeks, education fairs, career guidance activities, or events focused on European citizenship.
Eurodesk campaigns and activities
CHECK-IN participates in campaigns and initiatives of the Eurodesk Network, promoting activities that encourage young people to discover Europe and take part in mobility experiences. Among these initiatives is "Time to Move," a campaign that promotes European opportunities through events, sessions, games, digital content, and local activities. CHECK-IN also promotes activities related to European Youth Week, Europe Day, and other European initiatives aimed at young people.
Inspiring experiences
Sharing experiences helps other young people better understand what it means to participate in a European project. For this reason, Eurodesk promotes testimonials from participants in exchanges, volunteering, training courses, internships, and other international activities. These testimonials highlight the lessons learned, challenges faced, and the impact of the experiences, allowing young people to gain practical information before applying.
Support for youth organizations and professionals
Eurodesk also supports teachers, youth workers, associations, municipalities, and other entities working with young people. This support may include information sessions, the promotion of opportunities, access to educational resources, mobility campaigns, and tools for guiding young people. Organizations can contact CHECK-IN to request an activity, ask questions, or collaborate on promoting European opportunities.
For whom?
Eurodesk is primarily aimed at young people seeking opportunities to study, learn, volunteer, work, travel, or participate in activities in Europe. It also supports students, teachers, educators, youth workers, schools, associations, municipalities, families, and others in need of information regarding European mobility.
