From Table to Community

I had never taken part in a Training Course until this one. Having already gained some experience with Youth Exchanges—which I had really enjoyed—I wanted to try something a bit different, something that would strengthen my skills in a more practical/professional way. That’s exactly what I found in this project. The topic interested me from the very beginning, but it surprised me even more as it unfolded.

Firstly, the workshops I had the opportunity to join truly offered different approaches to food—ranging from creative ways to avoid food waste to the preparation of less common ingredients, such as algae. Then, there were also the people I had the pleasure of meeting: both the Portuguese team and participants from other countries, as well as the team behind the project. Everyone came from very different paths and careers, bringing a wide variety of perspectives and ideas to our discussions, and they were wonderful travel companions during our free time.

Although short, the project allowed me to learn a great deal about France, its culture, and its eating habits, while also giving me lessons that I’ve brought home with me.
