About the project
The “EU Diversity VOICES – Amplifying Europe’s LGBTQ Minority Women and the Unheard Voices” project was created to protect and promote the rights, freedoms, and values enshrined in the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union and in its Treaties. It stems from the conviction that everyone should feel safe and free to be who they are, and that diversity, equality, and non-discrimination are essential values of the Union. Through cooperation among organizations from seven countries, the project will link European achievements in the protection of human rights with current challenges at the local and international levels. Seven events will be held to highlight history, culture, shared heritage, and European values, with a focus on fundamental rights and freedoms. The activities will encourage civic and democratic participation and support open, fair, and inclusive societies based on the rule of law. The project will give a voice to LGBTQ+ people, minorities, women, migrants, and other vulnerable communities, raising awareness about forms of discrimination and intolerance. Through debates, educational activities, and participatory initiatives, citizens will be encouraged to combat racism, antisemitism, anti-Romani sentiment, hate speech, and violence. Sharing experiences, strategies, and best practices will strengthen European cooperation and the defense of human rights. It is hoped that this shift in mindsets will contribute to lasting benefits and a democratic, safe, and inclusive European future.
